Grace Lilly is an artist who revels in the delightfully weird.
As a photographer, she seeks to discover and enshrine hyper-specific, strangely beautiful moments in which the anomalous feels relatable.
Weirdness is evoked by the absence of the normal or the presence of the abnormal. While the weird is at times unnerving, disturbing or alienating, it can also be amusing, exciting, and unifying. Through her artistic practice, Grace Lilly seeks to parse not simply what makes something weird, but what makes it weirdly lovely.
She looks for the right things in the wrong places, favors the candid over the performative, marvels at natural forms, and spots traces of humanity in the inanimate.
